The Ultrasounds and Shoot Down the Moon @ Yield Bar (08/08/2015)

It’s always fun to come back to Milwaukee because they have lots of beer and cool people. We played Yield Bar with locals and friends of ours, Shoot Down the Moon. Shoot Down the Moon was amazing and the bar was very punk rock and drunk. Got to see Joe Prusha which is always an experience in itself even if it was just leaving work for a minute to take shots with us. We met some great new people and did an impromptu photo shoot in an alley where we met a guy screaming something about pretzels. We also met a long haired Asian head banger named Don who bought Todd a shot and gave him a massage…nothing weird…though Todd was a little sore the next day. We made another cool friend who was a self-proclaimed fashionista, blogger, and hip hop artist. We talked about afro punk and Tylor the Creator.
The show happened to be just blocks away from Fazio’s, our mechanic savior from a tour we did last spring when we thought we were going to lose Ol’ Whitey for good. We grabbed a bite to eat at Beans & Barley to fuel up for the rest of the night (the burritos were amazing)! Last but not least we had to make sure to get a photo with the Bronze Fonz…he was much smaller in person than we thought he would be but he was still taller than Amber.

The Ultrasounds, Skizzwhores, and Wood Chickens @ Mickey’s Tavern (08/07/2015)

After an All-American ride through the Wisconsin Dells in ol’ whitey (aka the old white lady) Tommy Bartlett style, we arrived at Mickey’s Tavern where we made a 2 min food review…lets just say the bar has been set high for tour food and its only 2 days in…we recommend the lamb burger with curry aioli and sexy fries, the namesake-the Mickey’s burger and the Lonestar for the veg heads.

Skizzwhores were the shit. Wood Chickens…the shiznit.

The Ultrasounds, Sleep Study, Maudlin @ Weber’s Mansion (5/8/15)

This show was a “secret show”…well…sort of. Our buddies in Maudlin know this guy named Scott Weber who owns an apartment complex and inside of it is his own complex of mystery and wonderment. It’s like 3 floors of themed party rooms, trap doors, and nostalgia…it even has a rock room complete with balcony seating and none of it makes any sense especially after the booze sets in. It’s been host to some crazy parties over the years which some of us had attended and quite a few bands but this was our first time playing there. It is probably one of the cooler places you could find to get drunk at…and playing there took it to the next level of party…but if you don’t believe us then you better try and get invited to the next one, I guess. Here’s a link to a video Star Tribune did on it.

The 6th annual Mid West Music Fest

This was probably the raddest MWMF yet. This was our 4th straight year playing and there were so many great bands and people all getting together for a singular purpose…to rock the shit out of Winona, Minnesota. It’s makes us proud to call Winona our home. See you next year. Chris Fletcher took most of these pictures.

Sup Y’all…we got a website and shit!

We’ve finally got a real website up. Are you proud of us? Nothing against facebook, myspace, or tumblr…but sometimes you’ve got to take it to the next level.  Check back because we’re going to put up even more stuff and fill the internet with The Ultrasounds propaganda and inspirational messages. Yaaaaay!
